Get your hands & feet ready for summer

Summer is just around the corner, and slowly, but surely it's time to get hands and feet ready for the warmer season. Means: peel, groom, style! With our DIY recipes and ideas for summery nail looks, you'll get in the mood for vacation, beach and long summer nights. Sweethearts, here we go.

DIY recipe for a revitalizing hand and foot soak

A hand and foot soak is the perfect way to get started on a new manicure or pedicure. Calluses and cuticles are softened, making them easier to remove or push back. Plus, the moment can be used to simply unwind and recharge for a few minutes.

Here is our DIY recipe for a revitalizing foot bath with mint and rosemary, which is also suitable for a hand soak:

chopped mint leaves (fresh or dried)
a few needles of rosemary, finely chopped
1 tablespoon of almond oil
a bowl
warm water

To perfectly enjoy the relaxation, it's best to have everything at hand: a towel, a book or magazine, a beverage and even a scented candle. Then pour all the ingredients into a large bowl for the feet or a smaller one for the fingers. Add warm water, immerse your hands or feet and enjoy the moment of tranquillity and the warm water.

After about five to ten minutes, the nail and callus skin will be softened enough to be easily pushed back or removed. Clean your nails, trim if necessary, then continue with the energizing DIY scrub.

Refreshing hand and foot peeling with lemon and coconut

Not only colours affect us, scents also have a significant impact on our mood. The uplifting scent of lemon and coconut immediately provides the perfect summer feeling. With our DIY sea salt lemon scrub for hands and feet, your skin will be velvety soft and the invigorating scent will make you feel like you're on a vacation. Here are the ingredients you'll need:

    DIY recipe coconut lemon scrub

    5 tablespoons sea salt
    2 tablespoons of coconut oil
grated peel of one organic lemon
a jar that has been boiled out and has a lid
a label to mark the jar

Directions: Gently heat the coconut oil in a saucepan, and then add salt and lemon peel. To intensify the scent, you can add a few drops of essential lemon oil. Blend everything well and pour it into a jar, ideally up to the rim. Then close with the lid, let it cool a bit, stick the label on the jar and label it.

Application: Since coconut oil becomes liquid when heated, you can apply this scrub without using water. Take a small amount with a clean spoon or a spatula and apply it to hands or feet. Gently massage in a circular motion and consciously smell the wonderful scent.

This way you can combine the relaxing moment of wellness with an energizing aromatherapy. Then rinse off and gently pat dry. The coconut oil leaves a delicate film on the skin and provides a silky, smooth feel.
